Statistical Properties and Sensitivity of a New Adaptive Sampling Method for Quality Control

چکیده
• We present a new adaptive sampling method for statistical quality control. In this method, called LSI (Laplace sampling intervals), we use the probability distribution function of the Laplace standard distribution to obtain the sampling instants, depending on a k parameter that allows control of sampling costs. Several algebraic expressions concerning the statistical properties of the LSI method are presented. We compare the LSI method with fixed sampling intervals (FSI) and variable sampling intervals (VSI) methods using a Shewhart X-bar control chart and evaluate the sensitivity of these sampling methods when the lower sampling interval is truncated. The results obtained show that the new method is a viable alternative in various critical contexts and situations. Key-Words: • adaptive sampling; sensitivity; simulation; Laplace sampling intervals. A new adaptive exponential smoothing method for non-stationary time series with level shifts
Simple exponential smoothing (SES) methods are the most commonly used methods in forecasting and time series analysis. However, they are generally insensitive to non-stationary structural events such as level shifts, ramp shifts, and spikes or impulses. Similar to that of outliers in stationary time series, these non-stationary events will lead to increased level of errors in the forecasting pr...

This paper proposes a multi-objective model for the economic-statistical design of the variable sample size and sampling interval multivariate exponentially weighted moving average control chart by using double warning lines. The Markov chain approach is used to obtain the statistical properties. We extend the Lorenzen and Vance cost function considering multiple assignable causes and multivari...

In today's highly competitive industrial environment due to fast technology development, quality practitioners will to detect out-of-control situations and take actions whenever is necessary as soon as possible. Accordingly, new statistical procedures have been enhanced incessantly both to handle high yield processes along with looking for methods of minimizing all quality cost. CCC-r chart, th...
متن کاملMulti-objective Efficient Design of np Control Chart Using Data Envelopment Analysis
Control charts are the most important tools of statistical process control used to discriminate between assignable and common causes of variation and to improve the quality of a process. To design a control chart, three parameters including sample size, sampling interval, and control limits should be determined. The objectives are hourly expected cost, in-control average run length, power of th...
متن کاملAdaptive fuzzy pole placement for stabilization of non-linear systems
A new approach for pole placement of nonlinear systems using state feedback and fuzzy system is proposed. We use a new online fuzzy training method to identify and to obtain a fuzzy model for the unknown nonlinear system using only the system input and output. Then, we linearized this identified model at each sampling time to have an approximate linear time varying system. In order to stabilize...
